Lovetts Pools & Elvina Waterfalls
Details
Lovett pools are a secluded shallow pool, making it great for kids. The pool is fed by a slow running stream keeping the water clean and clear. The walk to Lovetts Pools is not marked, but is easy to follow. Park your car at the Elvina car park pinned in the map below. Park use fees apply here, at $12 per day per vehicle unless you have a annual pass.
Finding the trail to Lovetts Pools
Since there are no signs posted for the walk down to lovetts pools and elvina waterfall you will need to keep an eye out for the trail in the bushes you your left. roughly 260 metres in you will notice a warn in track off of the fire tail you have been following(see image below for turn).
The track is a rocky slow decent, it ins't challenging, but enclosed shoes are a good idea. After following this trail for a while you will come to a fork in the trail, take the left path. See the below photo for reference. The Pools are only a 100 or so meters from this point.
If you follow the track down stream beyond the pools you will come across a fantastic view of Lovett bay, night bay and more. You will see this view in the gallery. While you're in the area another spot neasr by worth checing out is Upper Gledhill Falls another swimming hole, but with wider and deeper water.
so just to clarify,
in the first picture when you first arrive at this track, you take the path on your right? and on the second picture, you take the path on the left and the pools should be easy to spot from there within 100m?
Just wanted to make sure if I ever go there for a visit I don’t want to get lost hahaha
thanks heaps love the website!! I come here for references everytime I plan my drives 🙂
Hi Eiris,
You turn left at the first picture and then left again at the next picture, after about 100meters you’ll see the pools 🙂
Thank you Eiris! We’re so glad you’re getting a good use out of it 😀
I went here today and it was magic! But I have seen photos of the waterfalls from the bottom. How do I get there? Do I go all the way down to where the houses are and turn left?
Are dogs allowed?
Hi Aimee, As this falls within the Ku-ring-gai chase national park, dogs are not permitted.
