The kiama coastal walk is a great way to see the beautiful coastline and hidden beaches and bays that the municipality has to offer. The coast walk is divided into three sections you can choose to do one, two or all three. The bonus is that it's free.

  • The first section begins at the mouth of the Minnamurra River (north Kiama or Kiama Downs as known by locals) you can park your car for free and start walking heading south. This section takes you past Jones's Beach into Cathedral Rocks ( boneyard beach )  around Bombo Quarry, across Bombo Beach and up to the Lighthouse / Blowhole via the harbour. If you were wanting to do the complete loop you can either walk back or catch the train from Kiama station to Minnamurra station. This section can take up to 3hours depending on how fast you walk or if you decide to take a dip.
  • Next section is from the lighthouse / Blowhole to Kiama Hights ( south Kiama ).  In this section you will walk past many of Kiama's more popular beaches including Surf Beach, Kendalls Beach, Easts Beach passing by the smaller yet just as good Little Blowhole and finishing up at Loves Bay. This section roughly takes around 90mins or so.
  • The thrid secion is the more popular for the Gerringong residents. This section starts at Loves Bay. You can park your car here in Elanora Rd. Head south along the beautiful coastline for six kilometers roughly 2hrs along the clifftops that lead into Werri Beach Lagoon. To complete this loop you can either walk back after having a rest on the beach or head to the many cafes for a recharge or head another 1.5kms from Werri Beach to Gerringong train station back to Kiama.
  • If that walk isn't enough you can continue your walk even further south to Gerringong's suburb of Gerroa and check out the start to the famous seven mile beach. This will take you about 45mins.
