Dangars Falls
Details
Dangars Falls is found in the New England region just a short drive out of Armidale. It can be found along the unsealed road of Dangarsleigh which is still accessible by 2wd. These falls are not to be confused the Dangar falls, another popular waterfall within the area, set within Dorrigo. These falls are not technically a part of Waterfall Way, they are worth the stop if you have time.
Walking to the top of Dangars Falls
There are a few different paths you can take to get to the top of the falls. One of the walks you can take that offers nice views of these falls can take over an hour to complete but it does take you across the top of the stream of the falls and does also involve a bit of a hill. The faster option (if you are in a rush) is a 300m one-way walk to a viewing platform at the very top of the falls. carpark near the information boards. The sign will just show the distance to the top.
The path begins at the This is a paved path the whole way that is mostly wheelchair accessible until just before the falls where you will find a small flight of stairs. The path along the way provides information boards on some of the local flora and fauna of the area.
Once at the top of the falls you have a beautiful view of the valley. To return to the car, follow the same path.
View of Dangars Falls
If you are trying to capture a nice photo of Dangars Falls in full view, it's found on the path near the BBQ area and huts. In this spot, you can expect to get vista views of the valley and the exquisite granite falls. This path takes only a minute to follow and has plenty to offer. You may want to pack a zoom lens though!
