Bundanoon Creek Dam is located in the Southern Highlands and can be a very tricky walk to find. For this walk we would recommend either using a 4WD to start the walk or be prepared to get muddy if you are planning the walk after some rain. The trail starts by following Meryla Rd all the way until you come to an unsealed road. Once you reach the unsealed road, you follow it until you pass the second bridge. The trail will be found some 300m from the second bridge on the right hand side. You follow the 4wding track until you find the parking area for the dam. The track in has been heavily used for recreational use, resulting in a very rough track with the potential for getting bogged after heavy rains.

Once you commence the walk you notice the area surrounded by twisted gums. Bark from the trees covers the path from here until you see a trail that leads you to the water. Here you would be able to swim in the dam. If you walk along the river you will see areas where people have set up tree swings to use. Please keep in mind that they were put up by others so check the depth of the water before jumping to avoid injury. If you keep following the water you will come to the dam wall where water falls down the moss covered concrete, almost creating a simple waterfall.  You are able to climb down and get rather close to the dam wall and even walk upon it, although it poses risks. If you are interested in looking at some pretty rock formations continue back up the hill and continue the opposite direction from your car. It will lead you to beautiful views of the water flowing in the small gully as well as rock formations that almost look like table tops. It is well worth the walk to continue on although the path does sometimes become confusing as it is slowly wearing out. To return to the car you need to follow the same trail you made on the way in.
