Views from The Rock Lookout
The Rock lookout provides a great view of the Nepean River and only a short 250m walk to the lookout from the carpark. The walk is easy with a marked path and 50m or so of stairs. Another 2.5km track splits off at the start of the track leading to Riley's Mountain for more views of the river where you can take great photos or watch people on the river. The rock is also a cool place to explore on your own, however just be mindful that it is easy to slip, especially after rain.
This walk provides you with stunning views of the Nepean River as well as provide you with many sightings of native plants along the walk. Acacias, bottle brushes and Irises are just a few different types of plants and flowers you may spot on this walk. If you were interested in bird watching you might also like to bring your binoculars as there are might birds to sight in this area.
Excellent reviews as always Pioneer walks
I went to see the Rock Lookout Yesterday. It was however a rainy day and the dirt road into the car park was very rough for my small car. There were not many parking spots either.
After looking at the map and info at the car park, I thought it might be a bit too much for my 68 year old body to try and find the lookout along the bush track. Ill try again in better eather.
dear Peter the lookout is a few minutes from the car park and at 68 an easy access. Sylvia aged 72
