Cave Creek
Details
Cave Creek walks begins in Hill Top, which can be found on Wilson drive. The car park can be found on the right-hand side when coming from Colo Vale, just after the speed limit change.
Starting the cave creek walk
Cave creek walk commences from the carpark and is very easy to find as there are signs in place. There is only one main track to follow, making the trail very easy. Cave creek as the name suggests takes you to a creek that flows through a cave. The cave is poorly lit and a very low ceiling so if you plan on exploring the cave proceed with caution. The creek often runs slowly, but after heavy rain the creek and flow quite well. The walk is only short with a picnic area with barbecues provided at the start of the walk making for a good afternoon out.
The walk will split at about 900 meters. The path that leads down metal stairs will lead you to the opening of the cave. The cave has a low roof, wet floor and is dark, so make sure to watch your head, wear appropriate foot wear and take a torch. The cave isn't overly long and you can see the light at the end from the beginning.
When you continue on from the split in the path you will eventually be lead to the exit of the cave and to a small waterfall that flow through the cave, hence 'cave creek'.
Hi, There is text missing from your walk description. There is mention of a path split and then the next sentence is incomplete…
Thank you Neil, we have now updated that 🙂
Hi
Could you mention where in NSW this is?
Cheers
Ben 🙂
Hi Ben,
This is Hill Top, NSW, 2575. Please refer to the map on this page for an exact pin location of the start of the walk.
Just wondering if you can take dogs on lead ?
Thanks
Hi Kath, as a national park dogs are not permitted and fines would apply.
This walk is closed indefinitely
